High-quality patient care requires effective healthcare system communication. This goal is especially difficult for non-verbal patients. This capstone project addresses healthcare communication issues with a focus on non-verbal patients. Implementing an electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) system could transform healthcare professional communication. This paper will describe five intervention goals and their rationales. It will also examine how this project promotes autonomy and social justice to provide equitable healthcare to various people.
The adoption of an electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) system will offer a structured framework for recording medication administration, diminishing errors, and fostering effective communication among healthcare practitioners, thereby aligning with the objective of improving patient care. Furthermore, Salleh et al. (2021) assert that using electronic records streamlines the flow of workload, increases task productivity, and enhances care efficiency.
Adequate training is vital to enable healthcare workers to proficiently use the electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) system (Naidu & Alicia, 2019). This results in enhanced communication and diminished errors. This purpose aims to foster autonomy among professionals by providing them with the requisite skills and promoting social justice through equitable access to training opportunities for diverse groups.
The implementation of ongoing evaluation of the electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) system will facilitate the identification of areas requiring modifications and enhancements. This purpose promotes the value of autonomy through the cultivation of a self-assessment culture and advocates for social justice by guaranteeing equitable distribution of benefits within the system for all persons and varied populations.
Acknowledging and resolving communication obstacles, such as linguistic or hierarchical barriers, are crucial for enhancing communication effectiveness and patient care quality. This purpose promotes social justice by aiming to address inequalities in communication access and autonomy through empowering individuals to express their concerns.
The promotion of teamwork is vital in order to facilitate efficient communication and enhance the quality of patient care (Rosen et al., 2019). This purpose promotes social justice by emphasizing equitable participation and autonomy, facilitating smooth collaboration among experts.
The proposed project and its goals promote autonomy by giving healthcare workers the resources and education they need to connect with patients and make decisions about their treatment. Individuals with particular communication needs or who encounter obstacles in hospital settings are also granted this autonomy. The project ensures that various populations have an equal chance to gain from enhanced healthcare communication by promoting equitable access to training and resolving communication impediments.
Furthermore, the project promotes social justice through the cultivation of a cooperative atmosphere that appreciates the contributions of all healthcare practitioners and guarantees optimal care for patients, irrespective of their diverse backgrounds or individual requirements. The statement acknowledges that the attainment of social justice is contingent upon ensuring that all individuals possess an equitable opportunity to engage in decision-making procedures and access the utmost quality of care.
Adopting the eMAR system and professional training is motivated by our dedication to inclusivity, human autonomy, and social justice. Our organization strives to provide equal opportunities for all individuals within our diverse community, hence promoting fair and inclusive access to healthcare services. This project epitomizes the commitment to provide compassionate and efficient treatment for all individuals.

RN to BSN
1.5: Advocate for autonomy and social justice for individuals and diverse populations.
Students are required to submit weekly reflective narratives throughout the course that will culminate in a final, course-long reflective journal due in Topic 10. The narratives help students integrate leadership and inquiry into current practice.
This reflection journal also allows students to outline what they have discovered about their professional practice, personal strengths and weaknesses, and additional resources that could be introduced in a given situation to influence optimal outcomes. Each week students should also explain how they met a course competency or course objective(s).
In each week’s entry, students should reflect on the personal knowledge and skills gained throughout the course. Journal entries should address one or more of the areas stated below. In the Topic 10 graded submission, each of the areas below should be addressed as part of the summary submission.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

In nursing practice, accurate identification and application of research is essential to achieving successful outcomes. The ability to articulate research data and summarize relevant content supports the student’s ability to further develop and synthesize the assignments that constitute the components of the capstone project.
The assignment will be used to develop a written implementation plan.
For this assignment, provide a synopsis of the review of the research literature. Using the “Literature Evaluation Table,” determine the level and strength of the evidence for each of the eight research articles you have selected. The articles should be current (within the last 5 years) and closely relate to the PICOT question developed earlier in this course.
The articles may include quantitative research, descriptive analyses, longitudinal studies, or meta-analysis articles. A systematic review may be used to provide background information for the purpose or problem identified in the proposed capstone project.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

Students are required to initiate a mid-conference that will occur during Topic 5, using the “Practice Experience Conference Form (Mid-Conference)” resource. This conference is intended for the student, preceptor, and faculty to discuss progress toward meeting the learning goals and course objectives contained in the Individual Success Plan (ISP). Progress toward completing the written capstone project will also be discussed, including faculty recommendations for project development.
Student progress will be documented on the Clinical Evaluation Tool (CET), which is submitted in LoudCloud prior to the conference. The CET will be discussed during the mid-conference and graded in LoudCloud by the faculty after the mid-conference. If the student receives an “Unacceptable” or “Below Expectations” in any category, the student will remediate for that category of the CET.
The preceptor will perform a midterm evaluation with the faculty. The faculty will input the evaluation content into the Lopes Activity Tracker. The student will upload the evaluation into LoudCloud after meeting with the preceptor to discuss the midterm evaluation.
Students must meet all clinical expectations of the course, earn a passing grade on all benchmark assignments, and successfully complete remediation (if necessary) in order to receive a passing grade in the NRS-493 course.
