Some mics areunidirectionalmic, have a narrow more directional pickup pattern:-cardioids and super cardioids. They are in times used to describe different unidirectional pick up patterns.
Omni directionalmics-these has no directionality since they pick up all or wide range audio, used where many instruments are played at once.
They pick up all audio on stage.
Bi-directional mics-These features directionality to the front and rear. Can also pick up audio to the rear but rarely used in pa systems.
