THE CAUSES, EFFECTS AND INTERVENTION MEASURES OF AN AUTISTIC CHILD. FINDINGS OF AN ATTACHMENT AT KAYOLE ADVENTIST SCHOOL, KENYA
INTRODUCTION
In this section the background of the institution where the attachment was done. Also the attachmentis also discussed.
1.1 Background.
The institution in which the research was conducted is called Kayole Adventist School. It is located in Embakasi Nairobi County. The organization is a private sector owned by a religious group of Christian community. The institution is headed by the qualified school head teacher with a degree in early childhood education. Other teachers are also qualified from different institution majority coming from teachers training college. The schools objectives and goals are:
To enhance child development under quality education.
To enhance holistic development of the child
To develop efficient Kenyans who will fit best in the society
To enhance spiritual development among children
The school had different department which also had different heads. The departments includes; thedepartment ofearly childhood, the department of languages and mathematics, the department of science and humanities.
The department of early childhood had five members and their head was qualified early childhood specialist with degree from the university. Other departments had four members eachand all were headed by a p1 certificate. Each department had various goals but the majority one is to ensure that children get quality services.
The activities that era carried out in the institution are all directed toward success of the pupils. These activities include class learning, play activities done during games and break time, field trips and debate/meetings which were being held mostly on Wednesdays. All this are targets to achieve quality education.
1.2 Purposes of the attachment.
The greatest purpose of this attachment was to involve in a school’s activities in order to understand how quality living of children is achieved. Also the purpose was that to know much about the administrative matters and its management skills.

2.1 Introduction.
In this section the general activities done are going to be discussed, thelessons learned during the activities and also the skills /competence acquired during those activities also discussed.
2.2 General activities done
Some of the general activities done during the attachment included;
Involving in teaching and assisting in teaching some of the lessons.
Participating in the physical education lessons.
Marking of the pupil’s books including homework and class work assignment.
Participating in outdoor activities such as swimming session.
Participating during field trips.
Involving in supervision and also helping in cooking and serving of children’s food.
Participating in the school’s cleanliness.
Participating in staff meeting and organization of files.
